Linda Sikhakhane is a Durban-born saxophonist and composer whose music stands at the vibrant intersection of traditional Zulu music, South African jazz heritage, and contemporary spiritual jazz. Educated under the tutelage of legend Nduduzo Makhathini and later at The New School in New York, Sikhakhane has rapidly established himself as a vital force in the global jazz landscape. His expressive tenor work, characterized by warm, breathy phrasing and cascading modal runs, honors ancestors like Winston Mankunku Ngozi while charting forward-looking, cross-cultural sonic territories.​

On LINDA, Sikhakhane delivers his most cohesive statement yet, weaving rich indigenous rhythms with sophisticated harmonic landscapes. The album features the saxophonist with pianist Cameron Campbell, bassist Conway Campbell, drummer Kabelo Mokhatla, and special guest vocalists for five the album's nine pieces: Phila Dlozi ("Abalimi Bayovuna"), Omagugu (Days Begin to Sing"), Ovuyonke ("Izibusiso"), Zuluboy ("Ilanga"), and Thabo Sikhakhane ("Uzalo").

Sikhakhane’s tenor saxophone acts as both a narrative voice and a meditative conduit throughout, grounding complex polyrhythms in deep, soulful melody. Supported by a stellar ensemble of South African and international collaborators, the project balances fiery, percussive crescendos with contemplative, space-filled ballads.
